The following personalities from Kogi East as usual want to occupy the Lugard House come 2016, in the context of this write up, their antecedents were carefully studied along their
education backgrounds for proper and
objective analysis to avoid any form of
political error,mistakes and prejudice against
anyone as the battle is getting nearer.
1) CAPTAIN IDRIS ICHALLA WADA (Executive
Governor of the State)
Born on the 26th August,1950 in Dekina, Kogi
State,he is a Pilot & Aviation Consultant by
profession.
He started his education at Government
Secondary School, Dekina 1963-1968
Then he was Games Prefect, went to Federal
Government College, Sokoto1969-1970.
He enrolled into Nigerian Civil Aviation
Training Centre, Zaria between1970-1972 then
Air Services Training College, Perth, Scotland
in 1972-1973. Burnside-Ott Aviation College,

He was elected as executive governor of Kogi
State 2012. In his stewardship as published by
SPLENDOUR captain Wada has reconstructed
and refurbished several dilapidated schools
across the state, his transformation agenda
speak volumes ranging from road construction
to portable water and health system.
The rice revolution is catching on fast and the
state is rated among the leading rice
production states in Nigeria.
Allo, near Itobe, a wind of industrialisation is
blowing to change the economic outlook of
the state.
The Staple Crop Processing Zone has been
attracted to Alape in Kabba/Bunu Local
Government Area of the State by the governor.
Sundry Small Scale Cassava Processing
Centres have been built across the state to
encourage smaller farmers.
His tenure has brought peace across the
length and breadth of the state.
Establishment of Kogi State University
Teaching Hospital is among the achievements
of Captain Wada.
As it is, his teaming supporters and loyal
party men are clamouring for his continuity
come 2016 in other to consolidate on his
transformation agenda under People
Democratic Party (PDP).
2) PRINCE ABUBAKAR AUDU (ex- Governor of
the State)
N.A Junior Primary School, Alloma; N.A
Primary School, Ankpa. Dennis Memorial
Grammar School, Onitsha. Jos Commercial
College, Jos where he obtained both the GCE
ordinary level and Advanced Level Certificate,
1975. He proceeded to London to read
Banking/Finance.
He spent over 25 years with First Bank Plc,
formerly Standard Bank of Nigeria. During this
period he served in various capacities at
management level. It is on record that he was
the first black Training Officer of the bank and
one of the black Senior Management staff of
the Standard Chartered Bank in London andd
New York.
He was appointed Commissioner for Finance
and Economic Planning in the old Benue State
in 1986 and he served under 4 Military
Governors, in the capacity of three and a half
years. The construction of Ejule, Alloma-
Otukpa road is one of the very legacies Prince
Audu left behind dduring his ture as
Commissioner. He went back to first bank as
Assistant General Manager. The climax of his
career in the banking industry is his
appointment to the enviable position of
Executive Director of FSB International Plc.
He has his first electoral victory in December
1991, when he won the governorship election
of Kogi State under the auspices of the defunct
National Republic Convention (NRC), during
his short-lived tenure as governor of Kogi
State he made giant strides in virtually all-
human endeavours. The Kogi State
Polytechnic, Lokoja, the FM and AM Radio
Stations, Low Cost Housing, Township and
Intertownship roads, portable water as well as
rural electrication are all hallmarks of his 22
months administration. He was given another
chance in same capacity in 1999 perhaps to
complete the development process of the state
which earned him both local and international
recognition. The establishment of a state
owned University is one of the greatest
legacies he bequeathed to his people while
serving as governor. Kogi State witnessed
rapid development under the charismatic
leadership of Prince Audu.
It's adjudged that Kogi State indigenes are
clamouring for him to re-occupy the Lugard
House come 2016. He is a stakeholder of All
Progressives Congress (APC)
3) ALHAJI JIBRIN ISAH ECHOCHO (Banker)
Born in a sleepy rural community of Ajiolo -
Ojaji in Dekina Local Government of Kogi State
to the family of the late Mallam Isah on 28th
February, 1960.
He attended the LGEA primary School Ajiolo -
Ojaji, he proceeded to our Lady of school,
Anyigba for his secondary education, and
subsequently to the Bayero University Kano
(BUK) to pursue a Bachelor's degree in
Economics, followed by Masters in Economics,
with specialisation in Capital Market from
University of Lagos. M.Phil in Petroleum and
Energy, obtained from the University of Ibadan
and Masters in Business Administration
(MBA) from University of Nigeria Nsukka. In
addition, a Ph.D in Economics at Rushmore
University, in the United States of America.
He was the Executive Director in charge of
treasury and Financial Institutions, Public
Sector /Transaction services, and Corporate
Support, Afribank, he is an Economist and a
Chartered Stockbroker, with over 20 years of
fulfilling banking career. He started his
banking career at this he then Chase Merchant
Bank Plc, in 1988 as an Analyst , where he
handled various transactions including
equipment leasing, project finance, trade
finance and capital market activities. He later
joined the then Afribank International Limited
(Merchant Bankers) in 1991 as the Pioneer
Head of Capital Market group while there he
participated actively in the privatisation
exercise of the Federal Government, carried
out restructuring of various corporate bodies,
and IPOs for some prime names. In 1998, he
was seconded to AIL Securities Limited as the
pioneer Managing Director/Chief Executive,
within two years of existence, AIL Security
Limited attained a leadership rolein the
Nigerian Stock Market and has remained a
household name in the Nigerian Capital
Market. He will fondly be remembered for his
tremendous contribution in the consolidation
exercise of Afribank.
Over the years, he has worked tirelessly to
redeem Igalaland from marginalisation and
oppression. He is a man with lion heart who
despite opposition and pressure has continued
to contribute to his community.
He is an ardent supporter of good governance,
his fans and political supporters have been
clamouring for his aspirations for Kogi
Governorship in other to redress the wrong of
his political mandate even on another political
platform if the ruling Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) refuse him their mandate.
4) SEN NICHOLAS YAHAYA UGBANE (Banker/
Administrator)
Born 23rd December, 1953 at Egume Kogi
State.
He started his early education from Local

Sen Ugbane has spent 19 years in the banking

5) BARR OCHOLI JAMES ENOJO SAN
(LAWYER)
Born 26th November, 1960, Abocho, Biraidu,
Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State
